Curbs, Costs, and Convenience: Highlights from the NorCal Parking Forum

Parking and mobility professionals from across the Bay Area and surrounding regions gathered last week for the quarterly Northern California Parking Resource Forum, hosted by the City of Oakland.

This meeting's theme was "Spring Cleaning," which sparked wide-ranging conversations on various topics, including vandalism and maintenance, signage and fraudulent curb colors, and asset management systems, mapping, and curb digitization. The City of Oakland shared updates on several current initiatives, with a spotlight on their ongoing rollout of a demand-responsive parking rate program. Attendees also took part in an open discussion about customer convenience fees and program cost recovery.

A generous thanks goes to LAZ Parking for sponsoring lunch, and a very big thank you to Michael Ford, Kerby Olsen, Tammi Byrd, and the City of Oakland team for hosting and providing a fantastic venue for peer networking and support.
