DIXON Completes Parking Utilization Study for the City of Hillsboro

DIXON has completed a Parking Utilization Study for the City of Hillsboro, Oregon, supporting the City’s broader effort to understand how parking can serve its thriving and growing downtown.

In June, our team collected on-site parking data using drone flyovers and mobile license plate recognition (LPR). Together, these methods provided a detailed picture of downtown parking use throughout the day. We translated that data into clear visualizations and practical findings to help guide the City’s next steps.

The study also compares current conditions with Hillsboro’s 2007 parking study, examining how parking policies and usage patterns have changed over nearly two decades. This historical perspective helps the City understand downtown’s growth and identify where parking management can have the greatest impact.

We were pleased to receive positive feedback from the City and proud to deliver a report that provides a clear picture of parking today and a strong foundation for future decisions. We appreciated the collaboration throughout the process and look forward to seeing how Hillsboro builds on this work as downtown continues to grow and evolve.
