DIXON in Maui: Park Maui in Action

DIXON's team recently spent time on the ground in Maui supporting the County's Park Maui program, connecting directly with kamaʻāina and gathering data to help deliver a smoother, more resident-friendly parking experience. At Kīhei's Fourth Friday event, Julie and Cam helped residents install and navigate the Park Maui app, answering questions and sharing information on resident benefits and upcoming program growth. The team also collected weekday and weekend occupancy and turnover data in Pāʻia and South Maui's newer developments, using drone imagery to turn that data into clear visuals for planning purposes. At the newly managed Kamaʻole Beach lots, they ran a booth offering Park Maui giveaways and helping beachgoers activate their resident benefit with a Hawaiʻi driver's license. Throughout the visit, Julie and Cam worked closely with the County and its vendors to troubleshoot issues, clear roadblocks, and strengthen contractor capacity — the kind of on-the-ground engagement that bridges technology, local government, and the communities they serve.
