On August 22, 2025, DIXON Resources Unlimited met with the Downtown Safety, Access, and Mobility (SAM) Citizen Working Group in Missoula to discuss the critical role of parking in supporting downtown access during construction and beyond.
The presentation highlighted baseline data collected across 124 on-street blocks and 12 off-street lots, demonstrating how inventory, occupancy, and turnover inform more effective planning. DIXON also outlined potential phased strategies to minimize disruption, including pre-construction engagement and communication, active management, and “Park Once” campaigns during construction, as well as post-construction policy refinements.
By working closely with local stakeholders, DIXON is helping ensure that parking remains accessible, efficient, and supportive of Missoula’s downtown vitality throughout the SAM project.
