The Northern California Parking Resource Forum met last week, bringing together parking and mobility professionals from across the Bay Area and surrounding regions for a lively discussion on today’s most pressing parking program challenges.
Topics included staffing limitations and difficulties filling vacant positions, upcoming paid parking expansions, lessons learned from other California agencies, oversize vehicle policies and enforcement, and the impacts of daylighting on public parking supply for agencies across the region. Participants also shared experiences navigating parking technology procurements, managing scope creep and its effects on project budgets and timelines, and explored the potential role of AI in optimizing parking operations.
Lunch was generously provided by ACE Parking, and sincere thanks go to Ian Champeny and the City of Fremont for hosting and providing an excellent venue for peer-to-peer dialogue and networking among Northern California parking programs.
