DIXON's SoCal Parking Forum Explores RPP Strategies, Legislative Shifts, and Coastal Policy

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Newport Beach for the latest Southern California Parking & Transportation Resource Forum! As always, this free, no-vendor-pitch gathering brought together parking and mobility professionals from across the region for an open, peer-driven conversation about the challenges shaping our industry.

The conversation covered a wide range of timely topics, including:

  • Residential Permit Parking (RPP) programs: strategies for managing demand, updating outdated policies, and addressing resident concerns
  • Legislative updates: how recent and pending legislation are affecting parking programs
  • Procurement: best practices for agencies and municipalities to streamline vendor selection
  • New technologies: how AI is affecting municipal operations
  • Community outreach: on creative ways to connect with the community directly
  • Coastal Commission considerations: how agencies operating in coastal zones are navigating approval processes
  • Plus, open discussion on the day-to-day challenges attendees are facing in their own programs, and how peers across the region are approaching them

A special thank you to the City of Newport Beach for hosting this forum, and to LAZ Parking for generously sponsoring lunch! These events continue to grow because of the professionals who show up ready to share honestly and support one another,  so thank you to everyone who attended.

The Southern California forums meet twice a year. Stay tuned for our next save-the-date, and feel free to share these invitations with colleagues and peers who work in parking and transportation!
