Last week, the DIXON team partnered with the City of El Cerrito to host a virtual community meeting where residents gathered to share input on proposed parking management approaches near El Cerrito Plaza BART. More than 30 residents joined the conversation, sharing feedback and ideas through live polls, a Q&A, and open discussion.

The meeting is part of an ongoing community engagement effort supporting the City's parkEC program. The chief goal of the program is to proactively manage anticipated changes in parking demand as the El Cerrito Plaza Transit-Oriented Development gets built. Attendees weighed in on paid vs. permit parking, as well as permit eligibility and kiosk placement.

This input will combine with results from the ongoing community survey as well as in-person conversations at the Tri-City Safety Day event on September 19. The feedback will shape the development of the Parking Management Action Plan for the City.
