From June 24–26, the DIXON team was on the ground in beautiful Sarasota, Florida, for a hands-on look at the City’s parking operations. Over two and a half packed days, Senior Associates Allison von Ebers and Jennifer Liu conducted an in-depth operational assessment focused on paid parking, permit and citation revenues, enforcement practices, reconciliation processes, and more.

To get the full picture, our team met with a wide range of City staff, including representatives from garage operations and finance to customer service, engineering, and special events. We also joined parking enforcement officers and meter technicians out in the field for ride-alongs to better understand daily operations and challenges.

All of this work will inform our Operational Assessment Outline, which will evaluate current practices, identify any roadblocks, and highlight opportunities for improvement. The final outline will also include a summary of best practices and actionable recommendations to support Sarasota in strengthening its parking policies and procedures.
