In early October, the DIXON team conducted a comprehensive site visit at North Carolina State University, meeting with Parking Services and Operations leadership, including Caitlyn Blakelock, Holt Craven, and Director Than Austin, alongside teams specializing in permit management, enforcement, facilities operations, transit planning, and campus development.
The DIXON team reviewed NCSU’s sophisticated parking operations - including their ParkingLogix system, extensive LPR technology, and Wolfline transit service. Through collaborative discussions with all the different teams that handle parking, DIXON gained critical insight into NCSU’s immediate challenges and long-term vision, particularly surrounding the changes planned for the Summer of 2029, when the Colosseum deck will be removed and Cates West development will simultaneously impact over 1,500 parking spaces.
DIXON and NC State share a mutual commitment to developing data-driven, operationally sound solutions that balance parking supply with enhanced transit options, pedestrian connectivity, and strategic growth plans.
The DIXON team thanks the entire NC State Transportation and Parking staff for their exceptional organization, transparency, and proactive spirit, and looks forward to supporting the university through strategic scenario planning and actionable recommendations that will guide parking and transportation decisions for the next decade.
