At this year’s New England Parking and Transportation Council (NEPTC) conference, DIXON’s Cameron Clark and Seal Beach Police Captain Nick Nicholas delivered a compelling presentation titled “LPR: More Than Enforcement.” The session explored how license plate recognition (LPR) technology is evolving from a tool for basic enforcement to a powerful resource for data-driven planning, policy development, and community engagement.
Cameron and Captain Nicholas highlighted how the City of Seal Beach is using LPR-generated insights to improve parking management, optimize enforcement strategies, and support equitable policy outcomes. From analyzing occupancy trends to evaluating turnover and compliance, the presentation demonstrated how LPR data enables cities to move beyond anecdotal decision-making and toward a more analytical, proactive approach.
DIXON extends sincere thanks to NEPTC for bringing together industry professionals and public leaders to share best practices and fresh perspectives. We look forward to continuing these important conversations around the evolving role of LPR and the future of innovative, data-informed parking and curbside management.
