DIXON’s team recently returned to Maui for another round of on-the-ground data collection supporting the County’s Park Maui program. Building on our earlier work, the team gathered occupancy data across South Maui and Pāʻia and expanded collection into Wailuku, giving the County a broader view of how parking demand plays out across the island. Drone technology also helped validate parking inventory at select locations, confirming what’s on the ground with clear aerial visuals.
A highlight of the trip was hosting the County’s Parking Manager for a ride-along, where he saw firsthand how efficiently and effectively our team collects data in the field and got an in-depth look at how the County’s parking data is gathered, from the street to the final report. It was a great opportunity to share our process, strengthen our partnership with the County, and keep building the data foundation that supports a smoother, more resident-friendly parking experience for Maui.
